Corporate Tax Attorney Volunteered In His Church's Homeless Ministry

Gary Kendrick Bond, 59, of Chattanooga, Tennessee died on Monday, April  27, 2015.

Gary was born in Chattanooga, to the late Thomas and Wilma Bond. He graduated from The McCallie School, Furman University with a degree in history, University of Tennessee of Knoxville- School of Law and  University of Chattanooga. Gary spent his career as a corporate tax attorney. He service on the executive board of the Civitan Club. He was a deacon and faithful member of First Baptist Church, where he volunteered regularly in the homeless ministry. Gary was an incredibly supportive husband, father and grandfather. He was tender, witty, eloquent, generous, and humble.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Trisha Richardson.

Gary is survived by his loving family, wife, Janice Bond; sons, Jeremy (fiancée, Sarah) Bond and Samuel Bond; and grandsons, James and Jackson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Friday, May 1, from 12-2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Golden Gate.

Funeral services for Gary will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at Frist Baptist Church-Golden Gate with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry and Reverend Mary Jayne Allen officiating.

Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Samuel Bond Education Fund at the Tennessee Valley Credit Union.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
