Crime Stoppers: 2 Separate Robberies, Believed Committed By The Same Suspects

  • Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Crime Stoppers, the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department and the Chattanooga Police Department are seeking information on two separate robberies. Police believe that both robberies were committed by the same suspects.

The first robbery occurred on March 29, at 2445 Hickory Valley Road at the Speedmart in Chattanooga. The second robbery occurred on April 2, at the Kangaroo convenience store on Cloud Springs Road and Scruggs Road in Fort Oglethorpe.

During the first robbery at the Speedmart in Chattanooga, the white male suspect entered the business and brandished a firearm.

The suspect jumped the counter and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

During the second robbery at the Kangaroo in Fort Oglethorpe, the suspects were captured on video and were described by witnesses as a white male and a black male. Both suspects had their heads and faces covered. The white male was armed with a handgun and fired multiple shots during the incident; one struck a male victim who was attempting to enter the store. Several other rounds were fired at a van in the parking lot and one of those rounds struck a female driver. During this robbery, multiple lottery tickets were taken by the black male suspect. The same suspect cashed the lottery tickets, approximately 19 hours later, at the convenience store directly across the street from the original incident location.

Investigators have received several tips following the release of the photos and video to the news outlets, however none seem to be viable at this time.

If anyone has any information regarding these robbery suspects, they should call Crime Stoppers. A confidential call could make result in a cash reward.

Call Crime Stoppers at 423 698-3333.
