The congregation, Deacons and staff of Grace Baptist Church, 7815 Shallowford Road, announce the calling of Dr. Benjamin T. Graham as senior pastor.

“Our congregation has been greatly blessed by the many faithful and fruitful years served by our retired pastor, Dr. Steve Euler,” said Curt Howe, chairman of the Official Board at GBC. “We feel equally blessed to have a man with fresh vision and passion for Grace’s future and outreach in Dr. Ben Graham. His expository teaching and practical messages have challenged my heart.”

Dr. Graham grew up in Cincinnati, Oh., and transplanted to the South prior to beginning college. He’s a UGA grad with a degree in Finance. He earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary, and received a Doctorate in Ministry Leadership from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Prior to the appointment at Grace, Dr. Graham served as associate pastor of 12th Street Baptist Church in Rainbow City, Al. He has worked in various pastoral positions since 2002, including serving as the Student Ministry director at Frisco Bible Church in Texas, and the Next Generation Pastor at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga.

According to Katie Boerema, who served on GBC’s Pastoral Search Committee, Dr. Graham demonstrated wisdom and maturity during the interview process, which seemed incongruous with his relatively young age of 35.  “We could see evidence that, through testing and refinement, the Lord had been strengthening his faith and preparing him for something like this,” said Ms. Boerema.

Dr. Graham said he has been impressed with the overwhelming blessings that already exist within the current ministries at Grace and is looking forwarding to increasing that impact in the future.

“Our mission is to ‘Gather, Grow and Go’ by serving the East Brainerd community and around the world,” said Dr. Graham.  The 450-member strong GBC accomplishes this mission locally through outreaches such as free Conversational English Classes and Grace Baptist Academy, and globally through the support of more than 70 missionaries and their families.

Pastor Ben has been married to Dr. Judith Graham since 2004. She is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry, and has served as a Women’s Ministry Director at Frisco Bible Church and as an adjunct professor at Point University in Birmingham, Al.
