The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added Bobby Eugene Blaylock of Ashland City to the state’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, then captured him the next day.

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday, Blaylock was taken into custody in East Nashville. Officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department recognized the vehicle he was driving from information TBI issued when placing Blaylock on the Top 10 list on Friday.

Metro officers identified the vehicle on Main Street near Yeaman Place. Blaylock then turned from Main onto Yeaman in an apparent attempt to avoid law enforcement. Before officers could initiate a traffic stop, however, Blaylock exited the vehicle and began to run. He stopped when commanded by officers, after which they placed him under arrest.

Blaylock was wanted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office on charges of rape and violation of the sex offender registry. On Friday, Blaylock physically and sexually assaulted his victim multiple times before fleeing the area in a stolen 1997 green Ford Expedition with Tennessee license plate 783 PZW, the TBI said.

Blaylock, 39, was originally convicted of aggravated liberties of a child in the state of Kansas.
