Glynn deVon Key Honored By Thomas Jefferson Foundation

Glynn deVon Key, Trustee 2013-2014, was recognized by Leslie Greene Bowman, president of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Leadership Team.   Ms. Key was mentioned for her trustee work during the Founder’s Day lunch and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medals Spring Dinner at Monticello.  

Ms. Key was also memorialized with a tree planting upon Montalto, a mountain named by Thomas Jefferson, with reception to follow for her family, Thomas Jefferson Foundation Trustees, University of Virginia administration and friends. The Honorable John Charles Thomas and former Justice, Supreme Court of Virginia presided as friend and mentor. 

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation incorporated in 1923 to preserve and operate Monticello, the plantation home of Thomas Jefferson. Ms. Key passed away Nov. 21, 2014, and will be greatly missed as trustee for Thomas Jefferson Foundation, said officials. She was general counsel for General Electric during her participation as trustee for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. 

Mrs. Ruby Key, mother and her son, Charles Key, Jr., currently reside in Chattanooga, and attended the Thomas Jefferson Foundation recognition events. Mr. Charles Key, Sr. was unable for health reasons to travel.
