Darrius L. "Deedy Weedy" Harris
Police have arrested Darrius L. "Deedy Weedy" Harris in connection with a shooting on W. 38th Street on Dec. 30.
Harris, 19, of Millard Lee Lane, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.
Police said they responded at 11:10 p.m. on a person shot call. Nathan Odum suffered a gunshot wound to his lower left leg. He was taken by ambulance to Erlanger Hospital.
Rollins told a detective at the hospital that he was walking through an alley with Nathan Odum when he heard five or six gunshots. He said the shots came from a vehicle, but he did not see the shooter.
Police said Odum told them the shooter was a person he knew as "Deedy Weedy." He said he had met him face to face several times.
Odum said he jumped to the ground for cover after the shooting started.
Odum later told police he was able to find photos of "Deedy Weedy" on Facebook. Police said Street Crimes Response Team investigators confirmed that the Facebook photo was that of Harris.
They said Harris is a validated member of the 52 Hoover Crip gang.
