  • Wednesday, April 8, 2015

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will meet at 1:00 pm on Tuesday,  May 5, 2015 at the Walden Town Hall, 1836 Taft Highway.  Refreshments will be served at 1:00 pm followed at 1:30 pm with the business meeting and program.

Terry Blunt, longtime resident of Signal Mountain, will present a program on how he discovered some interesting facts about his great-grandfather, Joseph H. Gaston.

Joe Gaston founded the Old Time Music competition in 1926.  In the presentation, "Joe Gaston and the Old Time Fiddlers Contest," Mr. Blunt tells how a young man from Sand Mountain researched Mr. Gaston and his role in music in Chattanooga in the 1920's.

As always, visitors are welcome at the meeting.
