The Soddy-Daisy Farmer’s Market will feature a special Pioneer Day on May 23, with music, games, demonstrations, Horsin’ Around Carving School, local produce, crafts, and handmade goods.
Organizers said, "The focus of the Pioneer Day event is to honor Soddy Daisy’s heritage from the early 1800s while enjoying our mountain setting and this small town that is part of the Cumberland Plateau region. The Poe’s Tavern cabin and park is the setting for this special day to celebrate our community’s past - includes demonstrations of authentic craftsman and pioneer era artisans, wood carvers, historical information, music, food and more.
Beginning every May, the Soddy Daisy Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Poe’s Tavern site and local vendors are always invited to participate.
