Sara Elizabeth Tipps Rose, 94, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center.

Sara was born in Belvidere, Tn., and moved to Chattanooga at an early age. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Rosseta  Tipps. Sara was married to E. Bernard Rose for 60 years, and he preceded her in death.

Sara graduated from Chattanooga High School and attended Edmondion College of Business. She retired from Cline Photo. Sara was a long time member of Northside Presbyterian Church and the Covenant Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School and was an officer in Presbyterian Women’s Ministry. Sara was a member of the Missionary Ridge Chapter, UDC.

Sara is survived by her son and his wife, Paul Bernard and Ernestine Rose, three grandchildren, Lynnea DeAnne (Richard) Bowen, Kathryn Elizabeth (Roy) Blackshear, Paul Barton Harris (Tara) Rose, seven great-grandchildren, Austin Roy, Connor Paul and Karaline Blackshear, Tucker Thomas Gentle, Harrison Thomas, Grant Smith and Johnathan Mitchell Rose.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, from 4-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.

Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at Northside Presbyterian Church with Dr. Paul Rader officiating and with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Sara’s name to Northside Presbyterian Church or to your favorite charity.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
