Bob Lydell Barker, 71, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015.
Bob started with a career in law enforcement with the LaFayette Police Dept. Then he joined the Walker County Sheriff Dept. as a deputy. Bob then went to work with the Iron workers group Local 387, until he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Diane Cook Barker; daughter, Andrea (Mark) White; son, Brian (Veronica Lively) Barker all of LaFayette; sister, Marilyn Barker Wardlaw of LaFayette; brother, Stephen L. Barker of LaFayette; grandchildren, Erin Fae White, Bryson Lydell White and Jasimine Marie Barker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel will be Wednesday, May 27 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randy Avans and Pastor Jim Powell officiating. Pallbearers are Ikie Henderson, Billy Whitten, Scott Mason, Josh Barfield, Mike Black and James Evans. Interment will be in the LaFayette Memory Gardens.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 26 from 6-9 p.m.
