Chevalier Vicenté Thompson, 55, of Chattanooga, died on May 23, 2015.

Better known as Heavy Chevy, he was full of humor and love.  As a devoted son, dedicated brother, loving father, and caring grandfather, he had a life well lived.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore N. Thompson; grandparents, James and Lillie Thompson, James and Genell Gustus; and special friend, James Jones, Jr. 

He is survived by his daughter, Chesley B. Thompson; mother, Rachel G. Lindsey; twin sister, Chavela (Melvin) Dean; brothers, Carlos (Karen) Thompson and Geoffrey Farmer; three grandsons, Javaris Thompson, Rodney Thompson, Adrian Sutton; special aunt, Loretta Robinson; aunts, Mary Sue Slaughter, Bernadette Gustus, Doris Thompson, and Mary Lindsey; special cousins, Johanna Jarrett and Finbar Andrews; special brother, Michael Jones; special friends, Thomas Williams, Gary Maddox, and Anthony Washpon; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Thursday, May 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be Friday, May 29, at noon in the chapel with Pastor Bobby Black as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
