Sara Louise Gadd Gillespie, 87, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2015  at her home in hospice care. 

She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church.  During her early years of work, she was employed by Cavalier Corporation.  Later Louise taught kindergarten at Brainerd United Methodist Church and was a teacher's aide at the Woodmoore Elementary School.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Alexander Gillespie, Jr. 

Louise is survived by her daughter, Heather Gillespie of Chattanooga; son, Thomas A. Gillespie III, of Chattanooga; and grandson, Joseph Patrick Gillespie of Chattanooga.

Flowers or memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road # 102, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or the Chattanooga Humane Educational Society, 214 N Highland Park Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, from 4–8 p.m. at North Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Terri Lowe officiating.   

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga team, Janice, Jackie, Amanda and Dr. Terry Melvin.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
