Lifelong Chattanoogan Volunteered As A Gray Lady At Memorial Hospital

Alma Huskey Schillhahn, 84, of Hixson, died on Friday, May 8, 2015.

Alma was born in Chattanooga and was a lifelong resident.  She was a graduate of City High School and attended UTC.  Alma was a former member of the Chattanooga Symphony Guild, volunteered as a Gray Lady at Memorial Hospital, downtown campus and was an avid tennis player.  She was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and the Sam McConnell Sunday School Class. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Scott Schillhahn; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Huskey; and siblings, W. Ross and James A. Huskey and June Peters.

Alma is survived by her daughter, Pamela Blevins of Evensville, TN; granddaughter and husband, Lauren and Garrett Wolfford of Soddy Daisy; great-grandson, Garrett Wolfford, Jr; special nieces, Marta Holmes and Teresa Peters and many other nieces and nephews; and beloved pet, Pepe. 

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service for Alma will follow at 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Paul Longmire officiating.  Entombment will be private for the family only at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
