Police Respond To 1 Shooting, 1 Stabbing Friday Afternoon

Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting and a stabbing on Friday afternoon. 

In the first incident, a man was shot on Tunnel Boulevard.

At approximately 1:29 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to 609 Tunnel Blvd. for a person shot. 

Officers were advised that a male victim was shot as he was walking out of a business at that address. He was identified as Jarian Nelson, 28, and he sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was transported via personal vehicle to a local hospital.

Around 1:52 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to reports on an individual suffering from a gunshot wound who arrived at a local hospital. After further examination, it was determined that the injuries sustained were the result of a stabbing and not from a firearm.

The individual is currently being treated by a local hospital for serious injuries.

 

It is unknown if the victim’s injuries are life threatening at this time. Investigators are processing the scene.

 

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding either of these crimes to call 423-698-2525.  The investigations are ongoing and more information will be released when available.
