Jackson, Tenn. - The Chattanooga Lookouts swept a doubleheader over the Jackson Generals Tuesday with victories of 6-2 and 3-2 at The Ballpark at Jackson.

When the Lookouts left down for their road trip to Jackson and Birmingham, they were in a virtual tie for first place with the Smokies. After winning four straight against the Generals, Chattanooga is in first place in the division, holding a three-game lead over Tennessee.

Chattanooga topped Jackson with a 6-2 wire-to-wire win in Tuesday's opener. Jose Berrios nearly tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched. Berrios (7-3) claimed the win over Jake Zokan (1-3) while Johnson earned his second save of the season.

Jose Berrios earned his league-best seventh victory.

Byron Buxton provided an early cushion for Berrios by scoring on an Adam Brett Walker II sacrifice fly in the first inning and adding another run during a Max Kepler single in the third.

Walker carried Chattanooga to a 6-1 lead through the top of the seventh. In the fifth inning, he cleared the left field wall with a two-run blast - his league-high 16th home run this season - that bounced over the clubhouse roof. He also recorded an RBI double in the seventh and later scored on a triple from Kepler.

Jackson cut the difference to 6-2 before Cole Johnson closed the contest. The Generals opened the bottom of the seventh with three straight singles. Johnson came in after a Berrios strikeout and retired the final two batters to finish Chattanooga's win.

The contest also began with a pair of three-inning shutout starts from Jackson's Andrew Kittredge and Chattanooga's Tim Shibuya.

Mike Gonzales broke the scoreless tie with a two-run double against Matt Anderson. After a strikeout and a single, Buxton singled to drive in Gonzales.

Mike Gonzales drove in the Lookouts first two runs in the fourth inning.

Paolini pushed Jackson (22-35) within a run in the sixth inning, but Chattanooga (34-23) held on for the win. Dario Pizzano's second home run of the year was Jackson's only offense in a 3-2 loss to close the evening.

Madison Boer (2-2) was credited with the win after a scoreless fourth inning. Anderson dropped to 1-4 with the loss. J.T. Chargois held Jackson scoreless in the seventh for his first save.
