Sturdivant, Annie Mae Thurman (Summerville)

Annie Mae Thurman Sturdivant, 86, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015.

She was born in Jackson, MS to the late Ernest and Johnnie M. Gaines Thurman; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Walter Sturdivant; five brothers; and one sister.

She served in the Methodist A.M.E. Churches in the Tennessee and the North Georgia area. 

She is survived by her sister, Ernestine (Jacob) Ramsey of Canton, MS; niece, Brenda (David) Williamson of Summerville, GA; nephews, James (Glenise) Thurman of Rome, GA and Vernon (Sandy) Thurman of Summerville; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at the New Spirit and Truth of Jesus Christ Church, 487 Scoggins St., with Bishop V. T. Hardin and other ministers officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Thursday, July 23.
