Hooks, Jerry Oliver (Dunlap)

Jerry Oliver Hooks, 98, of Dunlap, died at his home on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

Retiring with 20 years service in the U.S. Air Force, he fought with the Army Air Coprs during WWII and also fought in the Korean war.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Irene Austin Hooks; parents, Max and Mae Johnson Hooks; son, Ross Milton Hooks; step-children, Minnie Doris Buford, Robert Byron Stockwell, and Harold E. Stockwell; grandsons, Nathan Thomas Narramore and Daniel Aaron Narramore. 

Survivors include his wife, Pollie Griffin and her son, Kenneth Griffin, of Dunlap; daughter, Charlotte Ann (Thomas) Narramore; son, Jerry Franklin (Krys) Hooks, both of Dunlap; step-son, Billy Joe Stockwell, of Dunlap; adopted children, Billy Stockwell and Cynthia Stockwell, of Atlanta, GA; sister, Maxine Ramey, her children, Sharon and Bruce, of Jacksonville, AL; granddaughters, Rachel Irene Hooks and Sarah Jeriel Hooks, of Falling Waters, WV, Alyssa Marie Narramore, of Dunlap, Tamara and Debbie of Dunlap, and Jennifer of Florida. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, July 28, in the Ewton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jeremy Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Pope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Monday, July 27.
