CCS Comeback Nips Silverdale In Volleyball

The Chattanooga Christian Lady Chargers opened their 2015 volleyball season at Sliverdale on Tuesday and it was a tight match as they had to play five sets before prevailing, 3-2.

CCS won the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-21 before the Lady Seahawks evened the match with wins by scores of 25-10 and 25-22.

Then in the decisive fifth set, the visitors won by 16-14.

Cassie Curry had 15 kills to pace the CCS attack while Emily Henderson had 14 kills, 20 digs and an ace in a strong supporting role.

Katie Smith and Rachel Kay were both credited with 21 assists while Brie Hemphill had five kills.  Allison Hughes finished with five aces.

The Lady Chargers return to action on Thursday when they host Berean while Silverdale will be heading to Cleveland this weekend to take part in the Bradley Bash.
