Glenn C. Cantrell, 79, of McDonald, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at the family residence.

He was a devoted loving father. He loved and was involved in Bradley County politics for most of his life. He served as constable in the 1st district for many years. He was of the Church of God faith. He operated Cantrell’s Used Auto Parts for over 30 years.

He was the son of the late Reverend B.C. Cantrell and Ora Ramsey Cantrell; and was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary E. Cantrell; his son, Jerry Cantrell; his daughter, Judy Cantrell Morrison; one granddaughter, Donia Danette Cantrell; and one sister, Rose Price.

Survivors include his children, Dina Swafford and husband, David, Donnie Cantrell and wife, Debbie, Ora Teague and Bobby Dowdy, Glenda Cantrell and Phillip Fritts; siblings, Leola Miller and Billy Ruth Whitener and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Sherry Cantrell, Ore Crisp, Kim Gatlin, Christy McKinney, Misty Gee, Penny Goodwin, Julie Goodwin, Michael Loyless, Brandin Loyless, Mason Teague, Logan Teague and David Sneed; and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Mitchell Wilson and Chaplain Mike Justice officiating. Interment will follow in Earls Cemetery with David Swafford, Randy Fox, Phil Cannon, Steve Lawson, Dewayne Hicks, Phillip Fritts and Bebo Harris serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Colloms, Charlie McKenzie and Ed Lewis. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 at the funeral home and also from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at the funeral home prior to the service.
