Dureta Joy Griffith Hartman, 68, of Dunlap, Tennessee, died at her home Sunday, August 2, 2015.
She was born in Chattanooga, graduated as a 4-year Honor Student from Chattanooga Central High School in 1964, and earned a degree in Secretarial Administration at the University of Chattanooga in 1966. She retired in 1999 as a TVA Administrative Officer following 32 years of service. She was a 25-year member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and former member at Tyner United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hartman was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Nerine Greer Griffith.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Ben L. Hartman, of Dunlap; sons, Clay (Brooke) of Knoxville and Dan (Amanda) of Huntsville; brothers, Gerald (Judith) Griffith, of Florida and Dr. Lynn (Dianne) Griffith, of Nashville; sister, Lila (Max) Hale, of Chattanooga; three grandchildren, Delaney, Adam and Jacob Hartman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CDT Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Family Life Center with Bro. Greg Bartley officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3 at Ewton Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to the Chapel Hill UMC Building fund.
