Fundraiser For Red Bank Elementary Art Program Is Wednesday

  • Thursday, September 24, 2015

SpringHill Suites Chattanooga, managed by 3H Group Hotels, will be hosting “Save Art! Night” for Red Bank Elementary on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., a fundraiser designed to help raise money for the school’s new visual art center.

Save Art! is SpringHill Suites’ Community Service program which involves the hotel partnering with an underfunded local public school to support their arts education program. In collaboration with the Fresh Artists organization, the fundraiser centralizes on art education as a critical component in a student’s academic and social development, said officials.

Last year, Red Bank Elementary’s art program was cut because of funding. The school was forced to take action into their own hands, and decided to construct a part of their library and dedicate it to art inspired activities.  All money raised at the event will go towards purchasing new art supplies and resources.

“SpringHill Suites Chattanooga Downtown is excited to bring classroom art supplies to a school that not only needs the supplies, but is deserving,” said General Manager Dwayne Massengale.  “SpringHill Suites has a passion for the arts and recognizes the importance of art education as a tool for character development and academic improvement in young students.”

The night will consist of live raffles from Chattanooga’s restaurants and attractions, a performance from the school's chorus, “The Other Guys” will be preforming live on the patio, and there will be a signature drink special available at on-site Waterside Lounge.  All raffle tickets will cost $3 each or two tickets for $5.
