Jeffrey Williams
Jeffrey Williams, 46, was arrested on Thursday and charged with false imprisonment and aggravated assault after he allegedly beat his girlfriend and prevented her from calling for help.
Officers responded to a delayed domestic assault call on Aug. 27 on the 3300 block of Centro Street.
When an officer spoke with the victim, she said that her boyfriend came home drunk the night before.
She told officers that Williams began beating her and refused to stop when she told him to.
She also said that he prevented her from leaving for several hours, and that he brought out his rifle, telling her to stop trying to escape.
This allegedly went on for five hours before the victim was finally able to get away around 6 a.m.
and escape to her aunt’s home.
The victim was admitted to the hospital that afternoon due to the severity of her bruises. The officer said that she had swollen marks covering her legs, arms and face.
