Non-profit regional blood center, Blood Assurance, will be opening all of its donor centers at 9 a.m. and closing at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day. The organization is asking the community to consider taking 30 minutes out of their day to make a life-saving donation before travelling over the long holiday weekend.

Currently, all blood donors will receive a customized, limited edition “I Bleed” football t-shirt from their choice of the following colleges: Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, UTC, TTU, ETSU, and VT.
in celebration of football season.

To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids - avoiding caffeine - and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating.
