UTC Tennis Team Travels To Memphis, Austin Peay

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team is on the road for a pair of matches this weekend. The Mocs travel to Memphis and Austin Peay in non-conference action.
 
The Mocs (0-1) have a 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) matchup at Memphis on Friday, Jan. 29. The Tigers (1-1) opened the season with a 5-0 win over No. 37 Louisville, followed by a loss to No. 6 Georgia (1-4) in the ITA Kickoff Classic.
 
The Tigers are No. 40 in this week's ITA national rankings and Andrew Watson is currently No.
87 in singles. Sophomore Michael Birnbaum and freshman Paul LaHue are both Memphis natives making a homecoming on Friday.

Chattanooga will finish its road slate the following day, Jan. 30, at Austin Peay. Austin Peay (0-0) officially opens the season against Chattanooga, as their first two home matches with Xavier and Kennesaw State were cancelled.
 
UTC has one match under its belt, a 7-0 loss at Middle Tennessee State on Jan. 16. Senior John Peacy and freshman Pablo Llebeili recorded a 6-0 shutout win at the top spot in doubles competition.
