Fire Breaks Out At Townhouse Complex In East Brainerd

Fire broke out at a townhouse complex in East Brainerd on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the multi-unit residential fire at 2846 Amsterdam Lane at 5:17 p.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:26 p.m., finding that the unit was 50 percent involved with fire in the attic and rear of the structure.

Firefighters used hand-held fire hoses and an elevated water stream to contain the fire. The fire was under control by 6:27 p.m. 

The blaze appears to have started in an end unit. There was minimal damage to the attached unit. Cause of the fire is still under investigation. The dollar amount of the loss is estimated at $150,000.
