Baylor Soccer Advances To Division II State Quarterfinals

The Baylor girls soccer team defeated Brentwood Academy 2-0 Friday afternoon in the first round of the Division II AA soccer tournament.

Baylor led 1-0 at the half with Gracie Spurling scoring the first half goal in the 16th minute.  Spurling's goal came off a Katelyn Smith corner kick which Lea Hunters headed down to Spurling for the finish. 

In the 76th minute Kamryn Bloh converted a penalty kick for Baylor after Rachel smith was taken down in the box. 

"I was very proud of our girls today," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said.
"We had mentality fromt he start and created numerous chances early.  Our back five did a great job of limiting their chances tonight.  It was a great team effort."

Peyton Randolph had two saves for Baylor. 

Baylor improves to 8-6-4 overall and advances to the Division II quarterfinals which will take place next week.
