Bryant, Charlotte Mayo (Dalton)

Charlotte Mayo Bryant, 79, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016.

She was born in Atlanta to the late Frank and Winifred Mayo; and was also preceded in death by her son, Hailey Randall Bryant, Jr; twin sister, Carolyn Randall; and sister, Bebe Driggers.

Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Den Mother and Cub Scout leader. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and was instrumental in helping when St. Mark’s Episcopal Church moved from downtown to its present location on West Emory St. She was especially involved with the décor of the sanctuary. Charlotte was a graduate of West Fulton High School and of the University of Georgia and was a member of the Dalton Garden Club. She also participated in the Spaghetti Supper fundraiser for the Friendship House at the First United Methodist Church for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Hailey Randall Bryant, Sr., of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sacy Bryant of Atlanta, John and Ann Bryant of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Hailey Bryant of Dallas, TX, Kathryn Bryant of Athens, Will Bryant of Raleigh, NC, Cooper Bryant of Atlanta and Nathan Bryant of Athens; sister, Vesta Dalia of Daytona Beach, FL; and many, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday Oct. 26 at 12:15 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Beth Royalty officiating.

A reception will be held following the memorial service in the Parrish Hall of the Church.

The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 901 W. Emery St., Dalton, GA 30720.
