Joyce Allen Chastain Cooper, 73, of Chatsworth, Georgia, died on Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cooper; parents, Leonard Sr. and Gladys Gaynell Chastain; brothers, Jay Chastain and Jerry Chastain; and grandson, Cory Long.
She was a member of Moriah Baptist Church in Chatsworth.
She is survived by her four daughters, Rhonda Smith of Milton, FL, Becky Tilley of Dalton, Lisa Casteel of Dayton, TN and Angela Long of Dalton; sister, Loretta Stamper of Crandall; brothers, Leonard Chastain, Jr. of Ocean Springs, MS and Glenn Chastain of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Sarah Smith, Adrienne McCurdy, David Jonathan Palmer, Natasha Leming, Kaitlyn and Kiley Long; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brayden, Landen, Addison, and Kyra; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor the life of Joyce Cooper will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Timms officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 10 from 5-9 p.m.
