Code Orange Air Quality Alert Issued For Saturday

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau has issued an air pollution Code Orange Air Quality Alert for fine particle pollution on Saturday.

The Air Quality Index is predicted to be 101, which is in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. This can have health effects for up to 50% of the population.

People with heart or lung disease, older adults, teenagers, and children should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.  During outdoor activities, take extra breaks and choose less intense activities.
