Chattanooga Wins $50,000 Grant For Tech Workforce Development

In Partnership With TechTown Foundation And Department Of Youth And Family Development

The U.S. Conference of Mayors and Wells Fargo will present Mayor Andy Berke and TechTown with a 2016 Outstanding Achievement CommunityWINS (Working/Investing in Neighborhood Stabilization) Grant Award on Thursday afternoon.

The formal presentation will be held at the South Chattanooga Youth & Family Development center. 

The $50,000 grant will be allocated to the TechTown Foundation to establish and test a Tech Workforce Program initiative in two of Chattanooga's YFD centers -- South Chattanooga and Brainerd. 

Through the Tech Workforce Program, TechTown will train, educate, and motivate a work pipeline of Chattanooga-based adult workforce talent that can be matched to open technology and related jobs with local employers.
