Alexander Approves Of Selection Of Rick Perry As Secretary Of Energy

Senator Lamar Alexander on Tuesday released the following statement on President-elect Trump’s selection of former Texas governor Rick Perry to become the next United States Secretary of Energy:

“Rick Perry is a first class public servant. I have known and worked with him for years. I look forward to learning more about his plans for supporting energy research, strong national laboratories and supercomputing that help give America its competitive edge in creating jobs.”

Senator Alexander serves as the chairman of the U.S.

Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and is a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
