Soule, Oscar WIlliam (Rhea County)

Oscar William Soule, 100, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, at his residence. 

 

He was formerly of Berrien Springs, MI, but lived the majority of his last 25 years in Rhea County. Oscar was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith and spent many years in Guatemala and Honduras serving as a missionary. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Agnus Ferney Soule; his parents, Clifford Eugene Soule and Mary Elizabeth Barr Soule; daughter, Lila M. Poff; son, Linden O. Soule; sisters, Mable Marsh, Ruth Sykes, Bertha Cole and Tillie St. Croix;  and brother, Edmond Soule.

Survivors include his daughters, Miriam J. Yost and Carolee M. Goodson; his sons, Duane C. Soule and Brian R. Soule; 15 grandchildren, Pam Poff, Henry Soule, Julie Booth, Deryle Poff, Ronda Eberly, John Mike Yost, Vincent Wooden, Clifford Poff, Arvetta Ianico, John David Miller, Vanessa Altiman, Freddy Poff, Edward Soule and Nancy Riley; and many friends in Michigan, Tennessee, Honduras, and Guatemala.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
