UTC Women Tee Off Spring Season Monday

  • Sunday, February 21, 2016
The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team returns to the tee Monday hoping to pick up where they left off in the fall. They begin the spring slate at the USA Women’s Invitational on the Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile, Ala.

UTC won one event, finished second in two more and tallied a third as well in making a great first impression on the 2015-16 campaign.

A familiar five opens the spring with seniors Emily McLennan (72.20) and Isabella Loza (74.08) joined by sophomores Megan Woods (74.33) and Cris Perez (74.73) and freshman Monica San Juan (76.20).
McLennan’s +6 average is on pace to shatter the school record, while Loza (4th), Woods (6th) and Perez (9th) all rank in the top 10.

After a tough opener, that quintet posted 11 top 20s averaging 291.00 over their final 12 rounds. San Juan made the biggest improvement posting 74.22 per round over her last nine cards.
