Proceeds Of The Momentum Network's Gather Gala To Benefit Single Mothers In Chattanooga

  • Wednesday, April 27, 2016

The MOMentum Network will kick off its second annual GATHER: Grit and Grace celebration on May 6, at Calvary Chapel, with proceeds of the event benefiting single mothers in Chattanooga.

Women of the community are  invited to come and experience a night of intentional support, encouragement, and  uplifting fellowship with all proceeds from the event going to fund programs for single mothers interested or enrolled in college.

“Today, one in four children are being raised by a single mother.

About forty-five percent of those are below the poverty line,” said Cara Hicks, CEO of The MOMentum Network. “MOMentum exists to help single moms complete college and help them lay a foundation of success for their future. This event is not only an inspiring experience for all women, but it benefits single moms who are trying to rise above their circumstances.”

Founded in the fall of 2014 by Cara Hicks, The MOMentum Network is a faith-based program that offers practical help to single mom families interested in building a better future through Higher education. The MOMentum Network is designed for single mothers to be supported by a peer-network of kindred spirits as they participate in play dates, life skills sessions, bible studies,  and social events. MOMentum also exposes women and their children to new possibilities & resources through mentorship, meetings held in local businesses, and scholarships.

The gala will feature Chattanooga women leading an authentic, interactive discussion on how we can be better together. In addition, single mom graduates and scholars will be recognized  and celebrated for reaching their goals. Festivities begin with a Gift & Glam Shop featuring local women-owned businesses opening at 5 p.m. The GATHER gala begins at 6:30 p.m.

GATHER is sponsored by Allied Pediatrics, Northshore Insurance & EPB Fiber Optics. For more information or to reserve a table at the GATHER gala, visit http://gathergno.com. To learn more about The MOMentum Network and how you can get involved, visit www.themomentumnetwork.org.
