James “Jimmy” Edward Parton, 72, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

He was born on March 18, 1944 in Chattanooga, to the late James Robert Parton, Jr. and Juanita Marie Shipley and was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Evans. Jimmy worked in sheet metal most of his life and retired from McKee Foods. He was a member of the “Do-Nuttin” car club in Ooltewah. Hot Rods are welcome to join the procession to the cemetery.

He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Beth Parton, two sons, Jami Parton, Chris (Jennifer) Parton, all of Ooltewah, three grandchildren, Logan, Hunter and Grace Parton, brother, Larry Parton, of Hixson, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at the funeral home.
