David Gerald Hurn, 75, of Decatur, Tennessee, died on Monday, May 23, 2016.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon and Choir Director. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Foster Hurn; two sisters, Cleo Boyd and Louella Powell; and one brother, Tonis Hurn.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carol Hurn of Decatur; one son, Michael Hurn (Dawnella) of Decatur; one daughter, Sherry West (Marvin), of Decatur; two brothers, James Hurn (Wanda) of Muscle Shoals, AL and Arlis Hurn (Louise) of Killen, AL; seven grandchildren, Cameron Hurn, Britney West, Logan Turner, Seth West, Michael Hurn; Jr, David West and Zane Hurn; several nieces and nephews; and host of good friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at Faith Baptist Church in Decatur were he will lie instate from 1 to 2. Officiating will be the Rev. Mike Couch, Rev. Marvin West and Rev. Danny Thomas. Internment will follow in the Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Decatur. Pallbearers are Paul Becker, Cameron Hurn, Seth West, Ronnie Brown, Joel Raper, Chad Derrick. Honorary pallbearers are Clarence Gilles, Mikey Hurn, David West and Zane Hurn.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at Bowers Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
