Pat Summitt Foundation Has Fundraiser For Alzheimer's Disease

  • Thursday, May 5, 2016

In honor of the former UT women’s basketball head coach Pat Summitt, who is battling Alzheimer’s disease head-on, Jasper Highlands and the Lookout Mountain Golf Club will be hosting the second annual Pat Summitt Invitational event. The event will benefit the Pat Summitt Foundation, an organization aiming to help find a cure to Alzheimer’s disease.

This two-day benefit event will begin Thursday with an Evening with Charlie Daniels, located at the Jasper Highlands Summitt Pavilion, where attendees will enjoy cocktails, dinner and entertainment by Charlie Daniels himself. During the event, special guests will honor and recognize Pat Summitt, including former UT coach and honorary chairperson Phillip Fulmer along with founder and CEO of Thunder Enterprises and event chairman John “Thunder” Thornton.

An Evening with Charlie Daniels will be Thursday form 6-9 p.m. at Jasper Highlands Summitt Pavilion, at the top of Jasper Mountain just off I-24/Exit 152, 2475 Jasper Highlands Blvd. in Jasper. Those attending include Charlie Daniels, Phillip Fulmer, John “Thunder” Thornton, elected officials, business leaders and community members.

The event will benefit the Pat Summitt Foundation, an organization with the same fighting spirit as its namesake, aiming to help find a cure to Alzheimer’s disease.

The Pat Summitt Golf Invitational will be held Monday at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club.
