Lawauna June Jones, 52, died on May 30, 2016 in a local hospital.
She was formerly employed with Oriental Weavers as a binder. Lawauna was a graduate of Howard High School class of 1981.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen P. Shropshire and Grace Lee Patton; first husband, Ronnie Dale Ray.
Survivors include her children, Gary Shropshire and Laronda Michele Shropshire; grandchildren, Ladarius Cal, Jr., Sevynn Shropshire, Levi Cal; husband, James Jones; siblings, Allen Vincent Shropshire, Kerry Shropshire and Lakisha Johnson; cousin, Cyzanne Cothran; best-friend, Angela Benning.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, in the Chapel with Pastor Aaron L. Cody officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, June 3, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
