Underwood, Lamar

Lamar Underwood, 66, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in a local hospital.

He was retired from ARAMARK with over 30 years of service and was of the Christian faith.  He was very creative with writing, poetry and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Underwood and Doug Underwood and his father, Talmadge Underwood.

Survivors include his mother, Nellie Underwood, two daughters, Sara and Amanda, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers, Larry (Nola) Underwood and Rodney (Sheila) Underwood, sisters, Peggy (Billy) Winkles and Kathy (Frank) Potter, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Brother Larry Underwood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
