Paul Powell, 57, of East Lake, died peacefully in his sleep early Wednesday morning in a local facility.
He was born in Chattanooga, graduated Kirkman, and lived here all his life. He loved writing music and drove a tractor-trailer for Davenport postal contractor for 20 years. He loved to entertain with a humorous story or excellent song.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Powell; and brother, Ronnie Powell.
He will be missed and is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rebecca (McClary); sons, James (Virginia) McClary, Tony, Gibson, and Marshall Powell; five grandchildren; mother, Freida (Ford); brother, Phillip (Joy) Powell; sisters, Annette Narramore, Connie (Jimmy) Evett, Sandra (Jim) Wood, Lisa (David)Troxell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
