U.S. Air Force Veteran Worked For IBM For 39 Years

James Ronald “Ronnie” Hixon, departed for Heaven on Thursday, June 23, 2016.

Born on February 9, 1947 in Chattanooga, Ronnie graduated from Lakeview High School and 
attended the University of Tennessee. 

He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for over four and a half years. 

Ronnie worked for IBM as an area regional support representative and retired in 2012 after 39 years. 

He was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for the past 20 years and was active in the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, TG Hixon, Jr. and Eloise Hixon. 

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kaye Hixon; daughters, Stacie (Steve) Allred and Krissy (Richard) Llewellyn; six grandchildren, Evan and Aidan Allred, Sydney, Taylor, Christian, and Jonathan Llewellyn; sister, Nola (Pat) Shivers; special brother-in-law, Bill Layton. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, at Lupton Drive Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Bell officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. 

A graveside service and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Roger DeHart officiating.
