The heat didn’t faze Casey Flenniken who won the 2016 Ira Templeton Chattanooga Classic by 1 stroke over Marshall Talkington and 2015 Champion Nick Garretson. Flenniken had a two-day total of 6-under-par 134 at Creeks Bend Golf Club in Hixson, TN.

On the opening day Flenniken caught fire. He had five birdies and no bogey’s to shoot 65. On the second day Flenniken had to hold off the strong play from Talkington who was in the final group with him.
The two were neck and neck all round. Pressure was put on the final pairing by Garretson when he posted his 36 hole total of -5 under par (135). In the end a -2 under back nine from Flenniken proved to be enough to hold off the competition to make it back to back wins. Flenniken also won the Regular Professional Division last week at the Capital City Golf Association presented by Tootsies.

Garretson, an amateur, won the Regular Amateur Division while Talkington finished second in the Regular Professional Division. Scott Moran who was also in the final pairing finished third in the Regular Professional Division after shooting 68, 68.

On the Senior side Bill Breen, PGA and Jeff Golliher tied for the overall Championship, but each won their respective division. Breen finished first in the Senior Professional Division and Golliher finished first in the Senior Amateur Division. Each shot a total of 134 which is -6 under par.

The True Temper Professional Skins game turned out to be very exciting once again. In round 1 two skins were earned, one by Kevin Snell who had an eagle on the par 5 first hole and Greg Wyatt had a birdie on the second hole. Each skin was worth $205. Round 2 ended with seven skins: two by Keith Burdette and one by Nick Bailes, Willie Brooks, Glenn Hudson, Scott Moran, and Jake Reeves. Each Skin in round two was worth $56 dollars.
