The first phase of the Believe Campaign is to build a new outpatient center designed to engage children and meet the complex needs of families and physicians. Currently, outpatient services at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger provide medical services to over 100,000 children a year.

More than $125,000 was raised during this year’s Children’s Hospital Dragon Boat Festival.   The event marked a decade of dragon boat racing in Chattanooga.  Teams raced in authentic 46-foot long Chinese boats at the Chickamauga Dam.  This year’s first place winner was BlueCross BlueShield – Liquid Awesome Blue.  CBL & Associates - Motley Crew took second place with ContinuCare – Row Baby Row not too far behind in third place.   This year’s fundraising champion was also CBL & Associates – Motley Crew.

During a one-week blood drive held at all Blood Assurance blood donation sites and at ErlangerBaroness Hospital, Blood Assurance raised $1 for every unit of blood donated by Erlanger employees and community donors. Blood Assurance recently presented a check for $1,000 for the Believe Campaign to Children’s Hospital representatives.

Children’s Hospital Foundation would like to acknowledge Haresh Patel, MD, and his wife Sumi Patel, along with other donors and volunteers, for hosting their annual traditional Indian dinner and fundraiser for Children’s Hospital.  Seventy guests, including physicians affiliated with Children’s Hospital, enjoyed Indian food prepared by Sumi Patel and her family and friends. Over $21,000 was raised for the new children’s hospital campaign.

Members of Sigma Chi Fraternity at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga recently raised more than $32,000 in support of the new children’s hospital. Money was raised through Sigma Chi’s philanthropy week, “Derby Days.”
