Mocs Basketball Announces Staff Changes, Additions

  • Thursday, July 21, 2016
The Chattanooga Mocs announce staff changes for the 2016-17 basketball season for both the men's and women's programs. Three of the four are current, in-house personnel.

On the women's side, Jon Goldberg was promoted from graduate assistant to director of student-athlete development. For the men, Jacob Kurtz becomes assistant to the head coach after a campaign as video coordinator, while Lauren Mills moves to director of basketball operations from the administrative assistant position.
Wesley Pittman joins the program as video coordinator.

"We had an exceptional 2015-16 with both of our basketball squads," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics David Blackburn noted. "You never want to sit back, relax and enjoy success. It's important to try to stay ahead of the competition, and we're confident these staff moves reflect that."

These staff enhancements come after tremendous seasons for both programs. Both claimed regular season and tournament Southern Conference Championships earning trips to the NCAA Tournament.

UTC is the first school to win both the men's and women's league tourney titles in the same year. It was just the seventh time, fifth for the Mocs (1985, 1986, 1991, 1992 & 2016), that the same school won both regular season crowns.

Season tickets for both programs are on sale at GoMocs.com or by calling (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
