The Chattanooga Lookouts coasted to a 9-1 win over the Tennessee Smokies to clinch the series 3-to-2.. The Lookouts have now won 11 out of their past 12 series.

Stephen Gonsalves was coming off of a start with some mixed results, but on this night, he was terrific. The left-hander gave up just one run on four hits over six innings.

He walked two and struck out eight. He improves to 4-1 with a 2.79 ERA with the Lookouts. Since joining the Lookouts from Ft. Meyers, he has struck out 47 batters in 38.2 innings and has only allowed four runs in his last 30 innings pitched.

Ryan Eades struck out three over two scoreless innings. Tyler Jay came out of the pen for a perfect ninth which included a strikeout.

Providing run support for their starter was easy for the Lookouts' offense tonight. Stuart Turner led the way. He went 2-for-3 with a walk and his 13th and 14th doubles. Engelb Vielma went 2-for-4. Zach Granite went 2-for-5 with two RBI and he also stole his 36th bag of the season. Mitch Garver went 1-for-3 with two walks.

The first run of the game came in the second inning on a Turner RBI grounder to score Reginatto who had reached on a single.

The team broke the game wide open in the fifth on a two run single by Ryan Walker and a RBI single by Mitch Garver.

In the top of the sixth, Jorge Soler would walk to start the inning followed by a double from Bijan Rademacher to score Soler and cut the Lookouts' lead to 4-1, but that is all the scoring the Smokies would get.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Lookouts would get that run back, and more. Reginatto opened the inning with a walk. Edgar Corcino singled into center field followed by an infield single from Vielma, scoring Reginatto to make the Lookouts lead 5-1.

Turner hit a ground-rule double to score Corcino. Michael grounded out to score Vielma and move the Lookouts' lead to 7-1. Granite's hit to left field scored Turner making it 8-1.

Chattanooga tacked on one more in the bottom of the eighth to give them nine on the night. Stuart Turner finished the night with two doubles and three runs scored to lead the Lookouts.
