Dr. Bernie Miller, the founding Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship Church, celebrates his 25th year in ministry and the church’s 20th church anniversary, respectively, with Grammy Award winning gospel artist Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, on July 8, at 7 p.m.
In August, 2001, New Covenant Fellowship bought 18 acres to accommodate its unprecedented growth. “We needed $150,000 to buy the property, but we only had $50,000 on hand” said Dr. Miller. “A local business person, who asked to remain anonymous, donated $100,000 so we could buy the property.”
With 18 acres as collateral, Dr. Miller said, "We were able to secure a 1.3 million dollar loan to build our new facility at 1326 N. Moore Rd. The church elders set aside half an acre of land for a community food garden to supply fresh food to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, church members and the Woodmore community.
