Land Clearing Begins For Future Home Of Chattanooga Unite Veterans Resource Center

  • Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Land has been donated at 747 East 11th Street, Chattanooga, for the future home of the Chattanooga Unite Veterans Resource Center. While there is not a set construction timeline, the initial land clearing began on Wednesday. The land clearing services was donated by Chattanooga Tractor and Equipment, RidgeCut Landscape Company and DeMaria Home Improvements.

The Chattanooga Unite Veterans Resource Center is an outgrowth of the Southeast Tennessee Veterans Coalition, which is a grassroots partnership with the Veterans Administration and the community to provide services to veterans and their families.

Land at 747 East 11th Street was donated by JoeDee Hulgan and Family for the sole purposes of serving veterans and plans are for these services to include transitional housing, on site counseling, a group room, healthy recreation and therapeutic gardening.  The Chattanooga Unite Veterans Resource Center concept is to be proactive and treat a veteran on release from active duty so that homeless does not occur.

The use of Chattanooga Unite is an outgrowth and tribute to the way the Chattanooga community united and came together as a result of the terrorist attack that resulted in the death of the five United States service members. Chattanooga Unite is a positive remembrance of a terrible event.
