McCaslin, Carl "Mac" (Athens)

Carl “Mac” McCaslin, 65, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Athens on March 30, 1951 to the late Carl and Ruth Barnett McCaslin, he had spent the majority of his life in McMinn County.   He was an Avid Tennessee Football fan and a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 100. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Dixon  Keasler McCaslin of Athens; children,  Carrie McCaslin Bivens and husband  Rodney of Riceville, Carl Ivan McCaslin and wife Julie of Jefferson, GA, Vencent Scott McCaslin of Jefferson, GA; step-daughters, Cynthia  Gray of  Athens and Cathy Keasler of Etowah; grandchildren, Cami McCaslin, Madison Williams, Montana McCaslin, Morgan Williams, Carl Hunter MCCaslin and Raine Phillips; great-grandchild, Willow, McCaslin; siblings, Joyce Watson of Riceville, Larry McCaslin and wife Janie of Knoxville and Annette McCaslin and significant other, Roy L. Nivens, of Etowah; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
