Roosevelt Wise
Roosevelt Edward Wise, Jr., 73, died on August 27, 2016 at his residence.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae Wise and Roosevelt Wise, Sr.; grandparents, Willie and Ester Mae Wise; brothers, Robert L. Wise and Willie Blankinship; granddaughters, Kyara Fitzgerald and Shy’Kirea Wise.
Survivors include his wife, Julia E. Wise of Chattanooga; children, Willie (Tammy) Wise, Sidney Wise of South Carolina; Roosevelt Edward (Melinda) Wise III, DeAndrea (Terence, Sr.) Wise, LeaTryicia (Randy) Smith, of Chattanooga; sisters, Jaqueline (Leonard) Robbins of New York, Gloria Hardy, Flint, MI; Erica Renee Wise of Ohio; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the chapel. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Sunday, and the family will receive friends from 5–6 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
