For a second consecutive match the Covenant women's soccer team posted a shutout victory as the Lady Scots defeated Huntingdon 1-0 on Friday evening in USA South action in Montgomery.

Covenant has won five straight matches overall, including three straight in the USA South, to move to 5-1 on the year with a 3-0 mark in conference play. Huntingdon drops to 3-3-1 overall and 2-2 in league play.

The Lady Scots scored the lone goal of the contest in the 26th minute when Abby Gienapp received a pass from Anna Porch and got her shot past Huntingdon keeper Leah Leach into the back of the net.
The goal was Gienapp's second of the year, while Porch records her fourth assist of the season. Porch's four assists is tied for most in the USA South.

Despite holding a 12-5 shot advantage, Covenant would not be able to extend the lead any further. Anna Robertson led Covenant with three shots, while Summer Bader and Rebekah Gravitt each took two.

Defensively, Covenant showed its muscle once again as Huntingdon managed just five shots with one on target. Rachel Lemay (5-1) picked up her third shutout of the year and made one save, while her counterpart Leach (3-3-1) made seven saves. Lemay, combined with the rest of the Covenant defense, has allowed just one goal over the last four matches.
